Published at the height of the swing and jive eras the volume provides a wonderful insight to the language in use, back when Count Basie and Duke Ellington were the kings of cool. As well as the jive glossary the volume is illustrated with photographic portraits of the likes of Cab Calloway, Louis Armstrong, Jimmy Dorsey, Benny Carter etc. A very good copy, in illustrated wrappers. Small loss to bottom front corner, still a nice copy of this scarce and fragile item.
